Waterfowl hunting is a new apparel category for First Lite, but it’s always been in the fabric that makes up the company. Its employees and ambassadors have long had a passion for it and were looking to bring something truly unique to the industry with the launch of their new Waterfowl Line.
THE APPROACH
We set out with the simple goal of creating a personal connection between First Lite’s customer base and the company’s key players. Collaborating with our friends at Wayfaring Footlights and Westbound Filmworks, we were able to capture intimate portraits of the team as we sat alongside them in blinds for hours a day over the course of several weeks. We were also able to showcase the flexibility and durability of their new line of apparel, a key aspect of the shoot.

Quick with a joke, whip-smart, and birdy as hell, Ross is First Lite’s fearless leader. Since his first Oregon pintail at age 12 he’s been chasing sprigs, curls, and everything in between. Check out Ross’ waterfowl origin story in the first installment of our new series “Duckmade”.
Though First Lite’s Director of Community, Kevin Harlander, literally hears cow elk calls when a squeaky door closes, his other love is goose hunting. From wailing on a Canada call as a boy in his parent’s garage in Minnesota to running traffic on geese in eastern Oregon, he is addicted. For Kevin, there's nothing better than sitting in a blind with friends and family, gas station danish in hand.
